Ouchhhh :'[ ingrown toenail help please?

hey everyone. i need some help

so i have an ingrown toenail and it hurts really bad but i don't want to get surgery. is there anything i can buy or do to make it better that doesn't cost a fortune? thanks so much everyone!!! :]Ouchhhh :'[ ingrown toenail help please?
The link in my source will explain both how you likely got the ingrown toenail as well as various ways of treating it (Google is amazing at quick info).

Basically, if you don't want surgery, you can try soaking your feet in warm water a few times a day, keep it dry the -rest- of the day, and wear open-toed sandals so your toes have plenty of room. Some basic pain relievers and a few days should help; if not, see a doctor about what else is possible.

Added edit: Be careful about the advice from the person above me -- a lot of the time, you can get an ingrown toenail from improper trimming. If you scroll to the bottom of the page of the link I provided (or any other you can probably find on Google), you should make sure you don't trim too much of the toenail. I would know, I've done what the person above me did plenty. =/ That !@#$ hurts, plus it isn't a permanent fix.Ouchhhh :'[ ingrown toenail help please?
i have had one of them before, and trust me the sergery dont hurt, they numb the toe and cut part of the nail off, it is over in 5-10 mins!

just do it,

would u rather go in a clinic or hospital for 5-10 mins or have people treading on it walking round ??

i have another ingrown toenail at the moment but it dont hurt, they will usually heal themself over a year or two, but if its hurting get the sergery,
Well, what is your pain thresh-hold? lol. i had ingrown toenails as a teen and since we had no medical insurance, surgery was not an option. Basically an ingrown nail is a nail that is growing to the side, into the toe, as opposed to out in front of the toe. what u might try to do is actually dig the toe nail out of the affected side of the toe. this is extremely painful. if u can tho, dig out the nail and clip it with clippers. oh and expect there to be lots of blood. before u start, soak your feet in ';epson salt'; and water until your toes are soft and pruned up, this will make it a bit easier. other than self surgery, u can try keeping your nails trimmed as short as u can stand. wearing bigger shoes, or even steel toe boots or shoes. from my experience, this will not just go away. with out the surgery and self maintenance, you will stay in pain.
